【Flash | KGHM-Attributable Sierra Gorda Molybdenum Output Falls 60% in September】
KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. reported preliminary September molybdenum production of 0.2 million lb (about 91 tonnes) from the Sierra Gorda mine on its 55% attributable basis, down 60% year on year. January-September attributable production fell 42.5% to 2.3 million lb (about 1,043 tonnes). KGHM attributed the September decline to lower molybdenum ore grades, lower recovery and reduced ore throughput. Attributable September sales also fell 75% to about 91 tonnes, while nine-month sales decreased 15.6% to approximately 1,225 tonnes. Sales were additionally influenced by concentrate-processing and molybdenum oxide return schedules.
