Hydrogen-powered freight carbon emission verification completed for the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, reducing emissions by about 20% compared with conventional fuel transportation

Recently, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor completed its first carbon emission verification and certification. The Chongqing Dry Port – Guangxi Qinzhou Port hydrogen-powered green road transport chain, developed by the New Land-Sea Corridor Company, successfully completed third-party verification of its 2025 greenhouse gas emissions and obtained a certificate issued by CTI Certification (a leading third-party certification body in China), marking authoritative, impartial, and standardized recognition of the corridor's green development achievements in hydrogen-powered freight transport.

Approximately 20% lower than conventional fuel transport, verifying the carbon reduction performance of hydrogen heavy-duty trucks

This verification was conducted strictly in accordance with the international standard ISO 14083, Greenhouse gases – Quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions arising from transport chain operations. Upon verification, the carbon emissions of the Chongqing Dry Port – Guangxi Qinzhou Port hydrogen transport chain were approximately 20% lower than those of a conventional fuel transport chain, confirming the carbon reduction performance of hydrogen heavy-duty trucks on trunk routes and fully demonstrating the core advantages of hydrogen logistics in trunk freight scenarios: clean, low-carbon, green, and efficient.

This verification filled the gap in standardized carbon emission accounting for trunk logistics along the Chongqing–Guangxi corridor of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, strengthened the corridor's carbon data foundation, and provided strong support for the corridor's green and low-carbon development and alignment with international green trade rules.

Going forward, the company will coordinate with green logistics segments such as the Yangtze River Economic Belt corridor, the Chengdu–Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor, and the Gansu–Xinjiang Hydrogen Corridor, deepen cross-regional collaborative cooperation in hydrogen logistics, continue to expand the application scenarios of hydrogen corridors and broaden their demonstration reach, and help build an economical, efficient, convenient, green, and safe New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
