【SMM News Flash】 First Solar schedules South Carolina facility’s first-phase inauguration for October 28

Recently, TrinaSolar won the First Prize of the 2026 Science and Technology Award from the China Renewable Energy Society for its project "Key Technologies for Two-Terminal Perovskite/Crystalline Silicon Tandem Cell Modules Based on TOPCon." Gao Jifan, Chairman of TrinaSolar and Director of the State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology, was invited to attend the 20th China Renewable Energy Conference. In the field of perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem technology, TrinaSolar has established a complete breakthrough chain from laboratory records to industrialisation delivery. In June 2026, the company's independently developed industrial-standard 3.1 m² perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem module was certified by TÜV SÜD, achieving a peak power of 907 W and a full-area module efficiency of 29.2%, setting a new world record for tandem module power globally. Leveraging its 900 W+ world-record technology system, TrinaSolar has completed the design and development of standardised industrial module products, and in the same month secured its first order from a high-end distributed client outside China, achieving a commercial breakthrough in bringing Chinese tandem technology products to the high-end residential market overseas. To date, TrinaSolar has filed 758 patent applications in the perovskite field, placing it at a globally leading level.

Beijing Fourth Ring Pharmaceutical Factory's industrial and commercial BIPV solar canopy was supplied with a complete prefabricated solar panel mounting bracket solution by Yuanguangbao, and the project has been successfully completed. Located in Tongzhou, Beijing, the project has an installed capacity of 1,995.2 kW, equipped with approximately 2,752 high-efficiency 725W PV modules, with Shanghai Tanxin Technology Co., Ltd. responsible for EPC and investment. The project adopts Yuanguangbao's new-generation BIPV solar panel mounting bracket system to build a distributed PV solar canopy on a concrete flat roof, addressing the pharmaceutical production park's needs for roof waterproofing, no open flames, non-stop production during construction, and low operation and maintenance costs over 25 years, implementing an integrated structural waterproofing solution, fully prefabricated weld-free assembly, and zinc-aluminum-magnesium materials. Within the scope of this project, the bracket system achieved non-destructive waterproofing, zero open-flame construction, fully prefabricated delivery, and long-term corrosion and rust resistance, with the project delivered under normal production conditions at the plant and accepted by the client.

Recently, a delegation of senior executives from the Danish company HeatSave A/S visited APsystems' Jiaxing headquarters, where the two parties held in-depth discussions on industrial and commercial ESS business and officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Going forward, the two sides will collaborate in areas such as industrial and commercial ESS, leveraging their respective strengths in product innovation and channel distribution to accelerate the deployment and application of industrial and commercial energy storage in Europe.
