Southern Copper 2026 Q3 Output Falls 1.1% QoQ to 232,396 Tonnes

Published: Oct 22, 2026 16:06 (GMT+8)
Southern Copper reported on October 20 that third-quarter 2026 mined copper production totalled 232,396 tonnes, down 1.1% quarter on quarter, mainly due to lower ore grades at its Peruvian operations. Output in Peru fell 6.1%, while Mexican production rose 2.5%. Gains at Buenavista and IMMSA partly offset lower production at La Caridad. Nine-month copper output reached 693,602 tonnes, down 2.9% year on year. These figures cover total mined copper, including copper contained in concentrate and SX-EW cathodes. Higher metal prices lifted quarterly revenue by 39.1% year on year to $4.70 billion and net income by 62.7% to $1.80 billion, both quarterly records. Earnings growth was primarily price-driven despite weaker mine output.
