Oct 22 news: As of Oct 22, China's social inventory of aluminum ingots tracked by SMM stood at the 580,000 mt level, down further from last Thursday, with the destocking trend continuing. By region, Wuxi and Foshan posted the largest declines, serving as the main sources of nationwide destocking; Gongyi saw a slight destocking, while Linyi, Chongqing, and Guangyuan recorded limited declines; Shanghai edged up, and other regions were basically stable. Overall, post-holiday cargo pick-up by downstream users remained steady, and social inventory continued to be absorbed, providing support for aluminum prices and spot premiums.
