Alaska Silver Completes 9,496-Metre Drilling Program at Illinois Creek, with Waterpump Creek Zinc-Lead Assays Pending

Published: Oct 09, 2026 10:53 (GMT+8)

Alaska Silver Corp. announced completion of its 2026 drilling program at the Illinois Creek Project in western Alaska, United States. A total of 9,495.90 metres was drilled, exceeding the expanded 9,000-metre target. Approximately 5,022 metres were completed at Silver Sage and 4,473 metres at Waterpump Creek. The company sampled 39 drill holes during the program, comprising 27 holes at Silver Sage and 12 at Waterpump Creek. Core logging, cutting and sampling were completed on September 12, with the final shipment dispatched on September 23.

Waterpump Creek hosts previously reported zinc-lead-silver mineral resources, with the existing Inferred Resource Estimate grading 11.28% zinc and 9.87% lead. The 2026 program generated 6,753 drill-core samples weighing approximately 24.8 tonnes, which have been submitted to ALS Global for preparation and analysis. Assay results from the new drilling remain pending. Separately, the company collected an approximately one-tonne bulk sample from the historical Illinois Creek mine area for metallurgical testing focused on gold, silver and copper recovery.

First Majestic Reports Q3 Production Decline at Los Gatos Mine, Plans Expansion for 2026 Growth
Canada's First Majestic Silver released its third-quarter production report on October 8. Its Los Gatos silver-lead-zinc mine in Mexico produced 13,277,264 pounds (approximately 6,022 tonnes) of zinc during the quarter — down 4% year-on-year and 19% quarter-on-quarter — and 7,839,182 pounds (approximately 3,556 tonnes) of lead, up 2% year-on-year but down 13% quarter-on-quarter. Dragged down by a slight decline in zinc and lead recovery rates, output of both metals fell versus the prior quarter. The company is advancing expansions at the Los Gatos and Santa Elena processing plants, aiming to achieve sustained throughput growth to 4,000 t/d in the second half of 2026.

Silver Pony Reports Multiple Mineralised Intervals in All Six Revelstoke Holes, with Visible Galena in Five
Silver Pony Resources Corp. released additional geological logging results from its Silver Pony Project in British Columbia, Canada. The company's maiden 2026 drilling program comprised 10 holes totaling 2,280.17 metres, including six holes at the Revelstoke Trend. Detailed core logging identified multiple stacked mineralised intervals in all six Revelstoke holes, with visible galena and pyrite observed in five holes. The remaining hole, SP-26-010, contained pyrite-bearing intervals. The previously reported 7.5-metre galena-pyrite interval in SP-26-009 was also included in the updated geological logs. Core logging is now complete for all ten holes, and samples covering the full length of each hole have been submitted for laboratory analysis. The four holes drilled at Black Warrior and Old Gold intersected the targeted marble and limestone host rocks but did not encounter significant sulphide mineralisation. Three-dimensional structural interpretation is underway, while assays from all ten holes remain pending.
