[SMM PV Flash] Thousand-cubic-meter-class PV direct-connected hydrogen production project signed

On September 29, the Guizhou Provincial Energy Bureau issued construction plans for 20 wind and PV power generation projects, including the Nayong County Yangchang Yonghe Wind Farm, with a total installed capacity of 1.43 million kW. Among them, there is one PV project, the Nayong County Zhailuo Miaoqing PV Power Station, with an installed capacity of 100,000 kW, and 19 wind power projects with a combined installed capacity of 1.33 million kW. The notice requires that wind power projects complete approval before March 29, 2028, and PV power generation projects complete filing before September 29, 2027. Projects that fail to complete approval or filing by the deadline will have their annual construction plan quotas revoked.

On September 30, Huaneng North Company's Jinqiao Helin thermal power flexibility retrofit supporting new energy consumption 480,000 kW wind power project successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection and power generation. The project is located in Horinger County, Hohhot, leveraging the flexibility retrofit advantages of the Jinqiao thermal power plant's thermal power units to build a large-scale wind power project. With a total installed capacity of 480,000 kW, the project consists of 72 units of 6.7 MW large wind turbines, along with the simultaneous construction of a new 220 kV step-up substation, which connects to the Dukou 500 kV substation via a single-circuit 220 kV overhead transmission line. The project officially commenced construction on November 8, 2024, with strict safety and quality controls maintained throughout, and orderly progress made on engineering construction, equipment installation, and system commissioning. As a Huaneng smart infrastructure pilot project, the construction process upheld the safety bottom line through safety grid management, risk pre-positioning, full video surveillance and standby supervision coverage, and strict management of outsourced personnel. Through raw material re-inspection, image traceability, and technical review, whole-process quality supervision was strengthened. All 72 wind turbines were successfully hoisted in one attempt, completed one month ahead of schedule with zero errors, setting a high standard for building a premium new energy project.

On October 1, the Qinghai Gonghe 1 million kW PV and solar thermal project, China's first million-kilowatt-class clean energy project integrating PV power generation, solar thermal energy storage, and electrothermal conversion, was successfully connected to the grid and began generating electricity. Located in Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the project has a total installed capacity of 1 million kW, consisting of a 900,000 kW PV plant and a 100,000 kW molten salt tower solar thermal plant. The solar thermal portion includes a 219-meter-tall receiver tower and 10,310 pentagonal heliostats, with a total light-collecting area of approximately 500,000 m². The PV portion involves the installation of 1.898 million PV modules. The project is a key construction project under China's second batch of large-scale wind and PV base developments. It is invested in and operated by PowerChina New Energy Company under PowerChina, with Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited serving as the EPC contractor.
