Alex Metals Completes 13 Drill Holes at Alaska's Wodski Project to Follow Up Mad Dog Zinc-Lead-Silver Mineralisation

Published: Oct 08, 2026 11:39 (GMT+8)

Alex Metals provided an update on its inaugural 2026 exploration program in Alaska. At the Mad Dog prospect within the Wodski Project, the company completed 13 drill holes totaling 3,138 metres, representing the first follow-up drilling since the prospect's initial discovery in 2004. Historical drilling intersected semi-massive to massive sulphide mineralisation in five of seven holes, with reported intervals ranging from 1.7 to 17.7 metres and grades of 8%–22% zinc, 0.5%–5% lead and 112–565 g/t silver. These are historical results; assays from the 2026 drilling remain pending.

Alex Metals also completed 16 holes totaling 3,058 metres at its KSO Project, bringing combined drilling across the two projects to 29 holes and 6,196 metres. Additional work at Wodski included UAV magnetic surveys, geological mapping and prospecting, while geological and geophysical surveys were undertaken at the nearby Frenchie Project to assess future drill targets. The company said all 2026 drill assays remain outstanding and will be released following compilation and quality-control review.

【SMM Flash News】Eloro Intersects 6 Metres Grading 8.07% Zinc and 1.23% Lead at Bolivia's Iska Iska Project
On October 7, Eloro Resources announced assay results from the first phase of expansion drilling at its Iska Iska silver-tin polymetallic project in Potosí, Bolivia. Drill hole DSB-95, located within the gold-silver-zinc-lead mineralized domain in the eastern portion of the proposed starter pit, intersected 6.00 metres from 115.50 metres grading 8.07% zinc, 1.23% lead, 42.50 g/t silver and 1.15 g/t gold. The same hole returned another 3.00-metre interval from 378 metres grading 11.37% zinc, 2.30% lead and 48.50 g/t silver. The company estimated true widths at approximately 80% of the reported core lengths. The results cover three drill holes—DSB-94, DSB-95 and DSB-96—across separate mineralized domains. Hole DSB-96 also intersected 87.10 metres grading 73.26 g/t silver and 0.18% tin. Eloro is advancing an initial expansion program of approximately 10,000 metres across 30 holes, aimed at expanding and potentially upgrading Indicated Mineral Resources to support a planned Preliminary Economic Assessment. DSB-96 remains incomplete following an approximately 45-day suspension caused by technical and logistical issues, with drilling expected to resume.

【SMM Flash News】Fortuna's Caylloma Mine Produces 11.37 Million Pounds of Zinc and 8.36 Million Pounds of Lead in Q3
Fortuna Mining reported third-quarter 2026 production results. Its Caylloma mine in Peru produced 11,370,294 pounds of zinc, compared with 12,037,240 pounds in Q2, while lead production increased to 8,357,539 pounds from 7,815,387 pounds. The processing plant treated 140,832 tonnes of ore, with a zinc head grade of 4.08% and recovery of 89.68%, alongside a lead head grade of 2.98% and recovery of 90.48%. Caylloma mined 139,868 tonnes of ore during the quarter, while plant throughput remained broadly consistent with Q2. Silver production reached 247,367 ounces, up 7% quarter on quarter. As of September 30, the expansion of Tailings Storage Facility No. 3 was approximately 64% complete, with completion scheduled by year-end 2026. The expansion is expected to provide additional tailings storage capacity for several more years of operations.
