【DRC Launches National Geological Survey Project to Expand Mineral Exploration Coverage】The DRC's national geological survey authority has launched a nationwide geological survey project designated PC2G-RDC, with technical support from Spanish geophysical firm Xcalibur, using high-resolution airborne geophysical surveys to identify mineralization-favorable zones and reduce exploration risk. The survey covers the provinces of Bas-Congo, Kwango, Kwilu, and Kasaï, building on previous work in the Greater Katanga region, and will raise the country's geoscientific survey coverage from 22.27% to 46.1%. The DRC is the world's largest cobalt producer and Africa's largest copper producer.
