[SMM PV Flash] India Launches 800 MW/3.2 GWh Standalone BESS Tender

Solar Energy Corporation of India issued its SECI-ESS-IV tender on October 1 for 800 MW/3,200 MWh of standalone battery storage, equivalent to four hours of discharge, with awards to be determined through an electronic reverse auction. The procurement is designed to provide stored electricity on demand and represents another step-up in India’s contracting of large, longer-duration battery assets. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 7, online submissions close on October 30, and technical bids are due to open on November 4.
