[Hilco Global to Sell Pohang and Incheon Meltshop, Rolling Mill Equipment from Hyundai Steel]

Hilco Global's Amsterdam-based subsidiary Hilco Industrial has launched the sale of meltshop and rolling mill equipment from Hyundai Steel's Pohang and Incheon facilities, offering complete packages or individual lines through a tender closing November 27, 2026. The Pohang Plant 2 assets include a 120/130 mt meltshop with Danieli electric arc and ladle furnaces, an SMS-MEVAC vacuum degasser, and an SMS Concast six-strand caster for billets, blooms, and beam blanks, alongside a 530,000 mt/year medium section mill (modernized in 2016) producing H-beams, angles, and round bars. The Incheon offering comprises a 90 mt meltshop with Nikko furnaces and an SMS Concast billet caster, plus a 650,000 mt/year rebar and light section mill with Sakai rolling equipment and an SMS-Meer Tempcore line. Bids are due by 16:00 KST on November 27, with buyers responsible for dismantling and removal.

[India Export] Indian HRC export prices remained unchanged at 660USD/tonne FOB India for Europe and 730-750USD/tonne CFR North Europe, while Vietnam-bound HRC held at 567.5USD/tonne CFR. Last-heard European deals were at 720–730USD/tonne CFR, with subsequent offers at 740–750USD/tonne CFR yet to be confirmed in fresh transactions. European buying remained cautious, with distributors holding sufficient inventories and limiting restocking, even as higher costs and supply constraints supported mills’ price expectations. Chinese HRC offers were last heard at 580USD/tonne CFR India, while Indian billet exports were assessed unchanged at 467.5USD/tonne FOB India. Domestically, Mumbai HRC remained at approximately 656USD/tonne (63,000INR/tonne) EXW, excluding GST. Higher coking-coal costs continued to support domestic mill sentiment, while market participants cited expectations of stronger post-monsoon infrastructure and automotive demand.

[India Domestic] India’s domestic steel market strengthened with prices rising across several key markets amid steady demand. Steel prices are expected to rise by another USD 20/tonne (INR 2,000/tonne) in the coming week, driven by higher raw material costs and a pick-up in demand. Major primary steel producers have also raised rebar prices recently, according to market participants. Mandi HMS 1&2 (80:20) up 3 USD/tonne (300 INR/tonne) to 409 USD/tonne (39,400 INR/tonne) delivered Mandi. Mumbai HMS 1&2 (80:20) unchanged at 376 USD/tonne (36,500 INR/tonne) delivered Mumbai. Mandi ingot up 3 USD/tonne (300 INR/tonne) to 505 USD/tonne (48,600 INR/tonne) EXW Mandi. Rebar rose 4 USD/tonne (400 INR/tonne) to 543 USD/tonne (52,200 INR/tonne) EXW Raipur. Durgapur Billet flat at 471 USD/tonne (45,300 INR/tonne) delivered Durgapur. Sponge iron PDRI increased 3 USD/tonne (300 INR/tonne) to 310 USD/tonne (29,800 INR/tonne) EXW Raipur.
