[Maanshan Iron & Steel Orders New Danieli Continuous Billet Caster for Special Steel Production]

Chinese steel producer Maanshan Iron & Steel (Masteel), a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group, has ordered a new continuous billet caster from Italian plantmaker Danieli for its plant in Maanshan, Anhui province, to produce high-value-added special steels, including alloy grades for seamless tube production. The machine will cast round billets with diameters of 150-380 mm, featuring Danieli Automation Level 1 and Level 2 systems with the company's Liquid Pool Control solidification model, along with dynamic secondary cooling, load distribution, and electromagnetic stirring controls. Key components will be manufactured, assembled, and tested at Danieli's facilities in China, continuing cooperation between the two companies that began in 2000 and has covered round, square, and special-shaped billet casters across Masteel's long steel portfolio.
