China's Alumina Operating Rate Rises to 76.89%, Capacity at 119.62M Tons/year

According to SMM data, as of this Thursday (September 24, 2026), China's total installed capacity of metallurgical-grade alumina stood at 119.62 million tonnes per year, with total operating capacity at 91.97 million tonnes per year. The national weekly operating rate of alumina rose 0.23 percentage points from last week to 76.89%. By region, the weekly operating rate in Shandong remained flat from last week at 89.20%; Shanxi remained flat at 72.48%; Henan remained flat at 59.83%; Guangxi fell 0.21 percentage points to 79.45%; and Guizhou remained flat at 81.33%.
