[SMM Steel] Vietnam’s Import HRC Market Holds Steady as Buyers Await New Domestic Mill Offers

[Vietnam] The ASEAN HRC market remained at 535 USD/tonne CFR Vietnam. Indonesian SAE1006 HRC was offered at 540-545 USD/tonne CFR, while SS400 and Q355 offers stood at 543-545 USD/tonne and 553-555 USD/tonne CFR, respectively. Buying interest remained limited as participants awaited new monthly offers from a major Vietnamese mill. Concerns following a recent blast-furnace fire also prompted some buyers to accelerate purchases from another domestic producer.

[ Salzgitter Commissions Major Hot Straightening Machine at Mülheim Plant ]

German steelmaker Salzgitter AG successfully ramped up a new hot straightening machine at its Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech facility in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The 1,100-tonne equipment, engineered by Buma Engineering, represents a double-digit million-euro capital investment and one of the plant's largest single upgrades in two decades.
