The Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMZ), operated by the DCH Steel industrial group, suffered structural damage to its industrial and administrative facilities following a Russian missile strike on September 5, 2026. No worker casualties were reported, as personnel successfully evacuated to shelters during the attack. The Ukrainian steelworks, which recently produced 5,500 tonnes of steel products during its July rolling campaign, is currently evaluating impacts ahead of its next scheduled rolling operations.

[ Salzgitter Commissions Major Hot Straightening Machine at Mülheim Plant ]

German steelmaker Salzgitter AG successfully ramped up a new hot straightening machine at its Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech facility in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The 1,100-tonne equipment, engineered by Buma Engineering, represents a double-digit million-euro capital investment and one of the plant's largest single upgrades in two decades. The new infrastructure enables the rolling of thick, high-strength steel plates specifically optimized for the foundations and supporting structures of offshore wind energy turbines.
