SMM, September 4:
This week, lead prices initially rose before pulling back from highs. The inflow of imported crude lead was relatively strong; the available supply of domestic secondary crude lead tightened, and downstream users reported fewer spot orders available for purchase in China. As of this Friday, mainstream domestic secondary crude lead was quoted at around 14,750 yuan/mt delivered, tax excluded. Secondary crude lead containing antimony and tin reached a maximum transaction price of 15,050 yuan/mt delivered. Tax-inclusive prices were at discounts of 150-50 yuan/mt against the SMM #1 lead average price. Mainstream imported crude lead cargoes (containing 0.2 Sb and 0.15 Sn) remained at a discount of around 150 yuan/mt, while cargoes containing 0.4 Sn were at a premium of 150 yuan/mt.
