[SMM Steel] Wire Rod Prices Are Stable, But May Change Tomorrow
[Indonesia] After a week of increases, wire rod prices have now stabilized at 495 USD/metric ton FOB. However, these prices may change tomorrow or in the near future. Previously, it was anticipated that prices would change because buyers were not very interested in purchasing at that price, which was considered high. However, that has not been the case; the cause is more closely related to coking coal prices, as raw material costs have risen—possibly due to water shortages, as reported last week. Given this situation, prices will rise, and buyers seem powerless to do anything but wait for prices to fall. If buyers continue to delay and refuse to buy now because they consider the price too high, the impact of rising coking coal prices may end up hurting them.
