[SMM Coal Flash] Alamtri Minerals’ H1 Profit Rises 24% as Revenue Jumps

Metallurgical coal producer Clinch Resources Ltd. has acquired a second equipment spread for its Lanes Branch surface mine in Wyoming County, West Virginia, with the equipment expected to be fully deployed and enter production in early September 2026. The expansion follows the mine’s first production sales and the recent purchase of a Cat HW 300 Highwall Miner, which is scheduled to begin production in August. Clinch said the additional equipment will support its year-end production targets and further ramp up output from the high-quality metallurgical coal operation.

New Zealand’s Hawke’s Bay Airport has opened an Expression of Interest (EOI) seeking delivery and potential co-investment partners for a proposed 12–17 MW solar farm on approximately 24 hectares of airport land northwest of the runways. The project is expected to comprise around 25,000 solar panels and generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of roughly 3,000 local households. Construction is targeted to begin in 2027, with completion planned for 2028, while the EOI closes on September 28, 2026. The airport said the project is intended to support rising electricity demand from future aviation and strengthen regional renewable-energy resilience, although a final investment decision has not yet been made.

Non-conventional renewable energy accounted for 41.9% of electricity generation in Chile’s National Electric System (SEN) in July 2026, up from 39.7% in June, according to the latest data from Chile’s National Energy Commission (CNE). The increase highlights the growing contribution of solar, wind, small hydro, biomass and geothermal power to the country’s electricity mix. Chile continues to expand renewable generation as it reduces reliance on conventional power sources and advances its energy-transition targets.
