SMM, August 27:
This week, China’s artificial graphite anode material prices remained stable. Supply side, the market stayed tight, with the destocking process continuing to advance. Cost side, raw material coke prices fluctuated little during the week, but the previously accumulated upward price pressure had not been fully absorbed, still providing strong support for anode costs. Considering supply-demand and cost factors, enterprises demonstrated a clear intention to hold prices firm. However, as quotations had been slightly raised earlier in the month, the market was in a transitional digestion phase. Looking ahead, artificial graphite, supported by improving demand expectations and increasingly tight supply, has room for further upside.
For natural graphite, the trend remained weak, with no improvement in end-use demand. Prices lingered near the cost line at low levels for an extended period, and the stalemate between buyers and sellers continued.
