Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) has signed a production sharing contract (PSC) for unconventional oil and gas development with the Indonesian government, marking a further step in the country’s efforts to develop its shale oil resources. Pertamina has been accelerating unconventional exploration, including the use of multi-stage fracturing, multi-well pads and other drilling technologies, as it seeks to commercialize Indonesia’s shale oil potential and expand domestic oil resources.
