Red Copper Strip Dominates China’s Copper Strip Exports in July

China’s copper strip exports registered broad‑based year‑on‑year growth in July 2026. Red copper strip remained the key export pillar, with exports of 8,972 tonnes accounting for 67% of total, up 25.4% YoY and down 4.0% MoM. Brass strip saw strong overseas demand at 2,183 tonnes (16% share), rising 39.5% YoY and 0.9% MoM. Bronze and cupronickel strips achieved double‑digit growth both YoY and MoM, reflecting resilient overseas orders.

In July 2026, China's copper plate/sheet and strip exports pulled back MoM but continued double-digit YoY growth, with the overall export market maintaining a strong performance. Specifically, Vietnam, South Korea, and Taiwan, China remained the top three export destinations for China's copper plate/sheet and strip in July, accounting for a combined 38% of total exports. Among them, Vietnam grew 118% YoY. Additionally, Egypt and Germany saw notable YoY increases of 171% and 131%, respectively, with outstanding performance.
