Recently, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material (300568) reported further good news in the ESS sector—the company’s dry-process separator products have successively passed rigorous validation by multiple leading ESS battery enterprises, achieving mass shipments. This indicates that the commercialization of Shenzhen Senior Technology Material’s dry-process separator in the energy storage track has fully accelerated, adding another important move to the company’s strategic layout of dual-wheel drive in “power + energy storage.”

Recently, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material (300568) has announced another milestone in the ESS sector—its dry-process separator products have passed rigorous verification by several leading ESS battery enterprises and achieved batch shipments. This marks a significant acceleration of the commercialization process of Shenzhen Senior Technology Material's dry-process separators in the energy storage track, adding another key piece to the company's strategic layout driven by the "power battery + ESS" dual-engine model.

01 Over Two Decades of Deep Cultivation, Building a Technological Moat

Since its establishment in 2003, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material has been consistently dedicated to the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of lithium-ion battery separators. It is the first enterprise in China to master the core technology of dry-process uniaxial stretching and the first in the Chinese mainland to simultaneously possess three core production technologies: dry-process, wet-process, and coated separators. After more than two decades of technological accumulation, the quality of its separator products has reached a high international standard, making it one of the world's leading suppliers of mid-to-high-end lithium-ion battery separators.

Leveraging its deep technical expertise, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material has established a solid leading position in the separator market. In 2025, its dry-process battery separator held a global market share of approximately 21.5%, ranking first worldwide in shipments.

02 The "Optimal Solution" for Energy Storage Opens Up Growth Space

With the acceleration of global energy transition, the energy storage industry has experienced explosive growth. ESS batteries predominantly use LFP, which imposes extremely stringent requirements on separator cycle life, thermal stability, safety, and cost. With its cycle life exceeding 10,000 cycles (industry average only 5,000–8,000 cycles), and the high-strength 16μm product achieving a puncture resistance of 450gf, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material's dry-process uniaxial stretched separator is widely recognized by the industry as the "optimal solution" for ESS applications.

The recent passing of verification by multiple leading ESS enterprises and achievement of batch shipments further validates the technological leadership, quality consistency, and mass delivery capability of Shenzhen Senior Technology Material's dry-process separator products.

03 Continuous Expansion of Client Portfolio and Accelerated Global Layout

Shenzhen Senior Technology Material has built a high-quality client network covering global lithium battery manufacturers, including leading battery enterprises in China and overseas such as LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, AESC, CATL, BYD, Gotion High-tech, CALB, EVE, and Sunwoda. In the ESS sector, the company has become a core supplier to energy storage leaders including CATL, Hithium, EVE, and Great Power Energy.

On the capacity side, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material is accelerating its global layout. Its bases in Sweden, Malaysia, and the US are actively under construction and are expected to begin production around 2027, providing ample capacity to meet the explosive demand of the global ESS market.

Looking ahead, Shenzhen Senior Technology Material will continue to seize opportunities arising from the global energy storage industry development, continuously refine high-performance ESS separator products, strengthen technological innovation and capacity assurance, deepen collaboration with partners across the industry chain, and support the safe and high-quality development of the industry with premium separator products.

[SMM News] Brazil regulator orders partial halt at Sigma Lithium mine over ‘imminent risk’
On October 2(nd), Sigma Lithium has suspended all mining and industrial activities at its Grota do Cirilo operation in Brazil, its sole producing asset, pending a federal appeals court ruling on a preliminary injunction over its environmental licences. Brazil's national mining agency (ANM) had ordered mining halted on the eastern slope of the north pit. Concentrate output from the site is halted during the suspension, and sales of lithium fines continue. Sigma pushed back its 12-month production guidance of 240,000 mt by three months and maintains its FY2027 target of 330,000 mt of concentrate.

[SMM News] Lithium Argentina outlines phased expansion plan for Cauchari-Olaroz
Lithium Argentina confirmed a Stage 2 expansion at the Cauchari-Olaroz salt lake project in Argentina, adding 45,000 mt/y of lithium carbonate capacity and lifting total capacity to 85,000 mt/y. Of this, an initial 10,000 mt/y module using adsorption direct lithium extraction (DLE) is expected online in 2028. This estimates after-tax NPV at $3.1 billion and IRR at 28.5% at a lithium carbonate price of $18,000/mt, with operating costs of $5,006/mt. Total investment for Stage 2 is $1 billion. The project remains subject to regulatory approvals, and detailed engineering for the initial module is due later this year. The additional supply is scheduled from 2028 onward.

[SMM News] Patagonia Lithium completes 72-hour pump test at Cilon
Patagonia Lithium completed a 72-hour pump test at well eight on its Cilon concession, with a flow rate of 2,043 litres/hour and 146,800 litres extracted. Lithium concentration reached 232 ppm at 250m depth. About 34 kg of lithium was pumped, equal to 180 kg of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE). In the 24-hour recovery test, the water level returned from 52.4m to the static level of 3.64m. The company identified an aquifer zone of interest between 226m and 324m depth and is updating its mineral resource estimate, with a scoping report to follow. The project is at the exploration stage, and no production timeline has been announced.
