[SMM Lithium Battery Electrolyte Market Weekly Review: Electrolyte Prices Stable This Week (August 17-20, 2026)] From August 17 to 20, 2026, electrolyte prices remained stable. The subsequent market price trend of electrolyte still requires continuous tracking of its raw material price fluctuations and transmission.

This week, the electrolyte market prices remained stable. Specifically, the average prices of electrolyte for ternary power batteries, LFP, and LMO were 31,750 yuan/mt, 31,200 yuan/mt, and 23,550 yuan/mt, respectively. Cost side, this week, LiPF6 prices increased. This was mainly due to strong support from downstream demand. On the supply side, some manufacturers underwent maintenance and the overall industry operating rate was already high, with limited idle capacity. Meanwhile, some enterprises with spare capacity showed weak willingness to quickly increase production. Favorable demand coupled with limited supply growth led to a tightening supply-demand pattern. Manufacturers had strong willingness to raise prices, pushing market prices higher. Additive side, VC orders for this month have basically been placed and are currently in the delivery stage. Coupled with tight supply, most manufacturers are temporarily not quoting prices. If there is still no significant effective supply growth in the short term, the tight supply-demand pattern is expected to further intensify, with strong upward momentum for subsequent price increases. Although some upstream raw material prices have risen, due to the time lag in price transmission, the electrolyte market prices remain stable in the short term. Supply-demand side, power battery enterprises have started stockpiling in advance for the September-October peak season. The high prosperity of the energy storage track continues. These dual positives have driven up the operating rate of battery cells. Electrolyte enterprises generally implement a sales-based production strategy. Following the growth of downstream orders, the industry's operating level has risen accordingly. Overall, the subsequent trend of electrolyte prices still requires continuous tracking of raw material price changes and transmission conditions.

Under the current market landscape, only battery cells in the ESS sector remain relatively firm, while battery cells applicable to the conventional small power market will continue to remain under pressure in the short term.
