SMM, August 19: Guangdong #0 zinc mainly traded at 25,175–25,330 yuan/mt, with mainstream brand quotations at discounts of 125–85 yuan/mt against the 2610 contract, and at a discount of 35 yuan/mt against Shanghai spot cargo; the Shanghai-Guangdong price spread widened. Today, suppliers offered Qilin, Mengzi, Danxia, Anning, Feilong, and Lan zinc at discounts of 125–85 yuan/mt. The Guangdong region’s refined zinc procurement sentiment was 1.94, and sales sentiment was 2.43. The zinc price center pulled back today, prompting more downstream price fixings, but actual transactions were still moderate. Meanwhile, given low premiums in Guangdong recently, some traders showed limited motivation to sell, and spot circulation of delivery brands decreased, supporting premiums to edge up.
