[SMM Copper Cathode Rod Flash] This week, the operating rate of copper cathode rod producers increased by 1 percentage point WoW. Some post-maintenance production resumptions supported a slight recovery in operating rates, but the market was in the off-season for consumption, and copper prices consolidated at highs, suppressing purchase willingness. Downstream wait-and-see sentiment was strong; overall order performance was weak, and end-user rigid demand for wire and cable and enamelled wire was insufficient.
