SMM, August 13:
Rare Earth Ore:
Price: Monazite prices were about 43,000 yuan/mt, rare earth carbonate prices were about 58,600 yuan/mt, and rare earth chloride flake prices were about 244,000 yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: At present, the overall trading frequency of rare earth ore remains low, market trading remains stagnant, and weak oxide prices have also caused the center of actual rare earth ore transaction prices to shift lower.
Rare Earth Oxides:
Price: Market inquiry and purchasing activity for Pr-Nd oxide was relatively low, and prices remained in the doldrums; dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide prices were temporarily stable.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, affected by fluctuations in futures prices, most market participants continued to hold bearish sentiment. Downstream metal producers showed strong wait-and-see sentiment and low purchase willingness; some traders continued selling at low prices, putting market transactions under pressure, while Pr-Nd oxide prices maintained a weak trend. For medium-heavy rare earths, dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide prices were relatively stable, and the overall market changed little.
Rare Earth Metals:
Price: Pr-Nd alloy prices edged down slightly, trading sentiment remained sluggish, and dysprosium-iron alloy and terbium metal prices were flat.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, affected by the continued weakening of Pr-Nd oxide prices, metal producers lowered their quotes slightly, but downstream purchasing attitudes remained cautious, the market trading atmosphere remained sluggish, and actual transaction performance was poor. In the medium-heavy rare earth market, although market inquiry activity remained limited, suppliers' quotes were relatively firm, and the market operated steadily overall.
NdFeB Blank:
Price: NdFeB blank N35 (Ce) closed at 204-214 yuan/kg, NdFeB blank 35M closed at 249-259 yuan/kg, and NdFeB 35UH closed at 349-369 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, NdFeB blank quotes were lowered slightly, mainly because lower raw material prices dragged down NdFeB prices. In terms of trading, entering August, some downstream motor manufacturers gradually resumed production, and higher operating rates drove a mild recovery in NdFeB orders.
NdFeB Scrap:
Price: Prices for Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap were slightly lower, while prices for dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap and terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap were stable.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, scrap market prices edged down slightly, mainly affected by persistently weak oxide prices. Recycling enterprises continued to lower their external purchase quotes and showed weak willingness to buy at higher prices, but scrap suppliers had limited willingness to sell at low prices, leaving overall market trading in a stalemate.
