Published: Aug 11, 2026 14:58
SEG Solar has opened a new 4GW solar module assembly plant in Tomball, Texas. Once fully operational next year, the facility will lift SEG’s annual US module assembly capacity to 6GW, together with its existing 2GW plant in nearby Houston. The company also announced plans to build an additional 4.6GW module assembly factory within 18 months across the street from the new Tomball facility, which would raise its total annual capacity to 10.6GW. SEG also plans to build a solar cell manufacturing plant in the US by 2028.

[SMM PV Express] Yingli's first batch of Panda high-efficiency modules arrived smoothly at the Yunnan Baoshan PV project site.
On the morning of August 8, at the site of CGN's 540 MW PV power generation project cluster in Baoshan Longyang District, Yunnan, the first batch of Panda high-efficiency modules provided by Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd. arrived smoothly, marking the official commencement of module delivery for the project and laying a solid foundation for orderly construction thereafter. The CGN Baoshan Longyang District 540 MW PV power generation project cluster in Yunnan is located in the areas of Yangliu Township, Bingma Township, and Wafang Township in Longyang District, Baoshan City. With elevations ranging from 900 meters to 2,550 meters and an average slope of 25° to 40°, the total installed capacity is 540 MW on the AC side and 661 MW on the DC side. It is another major project in Yunnan Province to accelerate the construction of clean energy bases and promote green and low-carbon transformation. The project cluster adopts a "grazing-solar complementary" development model, organically combining PV power generation with plateau ecological protection and local income growth to achieve efficient comprehensive utilization of land resources.

[Solar: European Energy divests 90MW Italian solar park]
Denmark’s European Energy has completed the sale of its 90MW Cerano Energreen solar project in Brindisi, southern Italy. The ready-to-build project has secured all construction and grid permits and is backed by a 20-year Contract for Difference awarded under Italy’s FerX auction scheme. Once operational, the solar park is expected to generate around 160,000MWh annually, enough to supply about 55,000 Italian households. European Energy said the divestment aligns with its strategy of developing, maturing and selling renewable assets while recycling capital into new projects.
