Recently, CATL's aviation power battery system developed for manned eVTOL aircraft successfully passed the adjacent cell thermal runoff non-propagation validation. This marks the world's first aviation power battery system utilizing 350Wh/kg high-energy-density prismatic cells to pass this test. This technological breakthrough and successful validation provide safer power assurance for the development of the low-altitude economy and represent another demonstration of CATL's continuous exploration of power battery safety boundaries. The entire process of cell and battery system production, inspection, and testing was conducted under the supervision of Civil Aviation Administration-designated representatives, laying a solid foundation for helping eVTOL aircraft meet civil aviation safety standards.

On August 10, the official website of the Hubei Provincial People's Government announced that the Yichang Chuneng Phase II 80GWh lithium battery industrial park project, with a daily cell production capacity exceeding 800,000 units, has commenced production. The project has a total investment of 22 billion yuan and took only 10 months from groundbreaking to production. Compared to Phase I, the production efficiency of a single line in Phase II has improved by over 60%, with daily cell production expected to exceed 800,000 units at full capacity. After commissioning, the total capacity of the Yichang base will rise to the top tier of global lithium battery production bases.

[전고체 배터리: 중국전자기술표준화연구원, JD.com, Sunwoda, 로봇 배터리 공동 연구실 설립 협약 체결] 2026년 8월 7일, 중국전자기술표준화연구원, JD.com, Sunwoda는 베이징에서 3자 협약을 체결하고 로봇 배터리 공동 연구실을 설립했다. 3사는 로봇 배터리의 표준 제정, 제품 개발, 시험·검증, 대표적 응용 분야에 협력하기로 했다. 중국전자기술표준화연구원은 현재까지 중국 유일의 로봇 배터리 표준 작성을 주도했으며, JD.com은 물류 현장을 활용한 대규모 실증과 반복적 테스트를 제공하고, Sunwoda는 맞춤형 배터리 셀 개발과 양산을 담당한다. 연구실은 물류창고 AGV, 휴머노이드 로봇 등의 고빈도 급속 충전과 고율 방전 시나리오를 겨냥해, 특화된 동력 배터리를 연구·개발할 예정이다. 협약식 후에는 로봇 배터리 관련 2건의 표준 토론회가 열렸으며, 60여 명의 전문가가 참석했다.
