Preliminary Sampling at the Silver Kings Project Indicates Significant Silver and Cobalt Content

Published: Aug 6, 2026 07:00
Canada's Kuya Silver has announced the results of preliminary sampling of historical stockpiles and tailings at its Silver Kings project in northern Ontario, indicating significant potential for the secondary recovery of silver and cobalt from these historical surface materials. The company carried out preliminary reconnaissance sampling of historical mine stockpiles and tailings storage facilities across the project area. Results showed that a master composite sample from the crushed ore stockpile at Kerr Lake Mill returned the highest grades, assaying 168 g/t silver and 0.36% cobalt (276 g/t silver equivalent). Among the two historical tailings storage areas sampled, a master composite sample from the Frontier mine returned the highest grades of 75 g/t silver and 0.04% cobalt (86 g/t silver equivalent). In addition, the Silverfields stockpile returned the highest silver grade of 62 g/t in a master composite sample, while the Lawson stockpile recorded the highest cobalt grade of 0.18%. The company noted that these results are based on preliminary reconnaissance sampling and are not representative of the average grades of the entire stockpiles or tailings facilities. Going forward, Kuya Silver plans to conduct additional sampling, metallurgical testing and resource estimation to further evaluate the recovery potential of silver and cobalt from these historical stockpiled materials.
