SMM August 7 News:
Rare Earth Ore:
Price: Rare earth chloride sheet prices are about 63,500 yuan/mt, monazite ore prices are about 44,000 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore prices are about 247,000 yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Currently, the overall circulation frequency of rare earth ore remains poor, and the market trading is stagnant. The weak oxide prices have also caused the transaction price center of rare earth ore to shift lower.
Rare Earth Oxides:
Price: Pr-Nd oxide prices are temporarily relatively stable, with a heavy wait-and-see sentiment in the market; dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide prices are also slightly in the doldrums overall.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, driven by news factors, suppliers' offers for Pr-Nd oxide were generally firm, and low-priced sources tightened again. However, most metal plants still maintained a strong wait-and-see sentiment, and their purchase willingness remained poor as orders had not yet shown substantial improvement. In the medium-heavy rare earth market, downstream demand remained sluggish, and some traders sold at low prices, causing the transaction price center to edge lower.
Rare Earth Metals:
Price: Pr-Nd alloy prices were stable while downstream procurement remained cautious. Dysprosium-iron alloy prices were flat, and terbium metal prices slightly decreased.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, influenced by the small fluctuations in Pr-Nd oxide prices, metal enterprises' offers were relatively firm, and overall prices remained stable. However, downstream procurement attitudes were still cautious, and actual transactions were in the doldrums. In the medium-heavy rare earth market, due to persistently sluggish market inquiries and declining raw material prices, terbium metal prices continued to drop, but dysprosium-iron alloy prices remained stable with no significant fluctuations overall.
NdFeB Blanks:
Price: NdFeB blank N40 (Ce) was reported at 216-226 yuan/kg, NdFeB blank 40M at 257-267 yuan/kg, and NdFeB 40UH at 361-381 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, NdFeB blank offers were temporarily stable, mainly because the raw material price offers remained steady, which kept NdFeB offers stable. In terms of transactions, from late July to early August, mainstream motor manufacturers entered the summer maintenance period, significantly lowering operating rates and reducing demand for NdFeB, resulting in generally lackluster market transactions.
NdFeB Scrap:
Price: Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap prices were flat, while dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap and terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap prices remained stable.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, scrap market prices were flat overall, mainly affected by small fluctuations in oxide prices. Recycling companies' external purchase offers did not see significant adjustments, and scrap suppliers held a wait-and-see sentiment toward selling. The circulation volume of tax-included scrap in the market did not improve, and market trading remained stagnant.
