Novelis Expands Aluminum Business, Reports Strong Q1 FY2027 Financial Growth

Novelis, a Hindalco subsidiary, continues to expand its aluminum rolling and recycling business footprint, advancing the commissioning of its new plant in Bay Minette, Alabama, while restarting the Oswego hot rolling mill, taking a two-pronged approach to strengthen its capacity layout.

The company delivered outstanding results for Q1 FY2027: net sales were $5.79 billion, up 23% YoY; net income attributable to common shareholders was $164 million, up 71% YoY; adjusted EBITDA reached $516 million, up 24% YoY; and adjusted EBITDA per mt of shipments was $563, up 30% YoY.

The growth was primarily driven by higher aluminum prices, improved operational efficiency, and steady demand for sustainable aluminum solutions. Commenting on the results, Steve Fisher, President and CEO of Novelis, said the strong performance stemmed from solid execution, favorable market trends, and sustained demand for sustainable aluminum solutions.
