[SMM Rare Earth Afternoon Transaction Comment] Today, the Pr-Nd oxide market remained sluggish in trading. Although suppliers held firm quotations above 735,000 yuan/mt, metal plants' purchase willingness remained weak. Gadolinium oxide quotations also remained above 200,000 yuan/mt, but gadolinium-iron alloy plants indicated that they would not purchase at this price for the time being. Afternoon prices for Pr-Nd alloy were unchanged from the morning, with metal enterprises holding firm quotations at 890,000-900,000 yuan/mt. However, downstream magnetic material enterprises showed strong wait-and-see sentiment, actual cost performance was poor, and the tug-of-war between upstream and downstream continued. In the gadolinium-iron market, inquiry activities remained sparse, with quotations stable at 190,000-195,000 yuan/mt.

[SMM Rare Earth Weekly Review: Off-Season Demand and Weakening Raw Materials Lead to Sluggish Trading and Broad Price Corrections] This week, Pr-Nd oxide prices declined further. Affected by continued weak downstream orders and fluctuations in futures, trading in the Pr-Nd oxide market was sluggish. Some traders lost confidence in the market outlook and actively sold at low prices. Driven by the "rush to buy amid continuous price rise and hold back amid price downturn" sentiment, the market's wait-and-see sentiment intensified. As of today, Pr-Nd oxide prices dropped to 735,000-737,000 yuan/mt.

[SMM Rare Earth Daily Review: Rare Earth Prices Generally Weak, Downstream Wait-and-See Keeps Transactions Sluggish] Overall, affected by downstream magnetic material enterprises' wait-and-see approach to inquiries, market trading activity remains persistently sluggish, rare earth prices are generally in the doldrums, and actual transactions are still weak. In the short term, influenced by the stalemate in the tug-of-war between upstream and downstream, Pr-Nd product prices may continue to move sideways.
