SMM, August 6 – Guangdong #0 zinc was traded at 25,520-25,615 yuan/mt. Mainstream brands offered discounts of 90-60 yuan/mt against the 2609 contract, a discount of 50 yuan/mt against Shanghai spot zinc, and the Shanghai-Guangdong price spread narrowed. Today, suppliers quoted discounts of 90-60 yuan/mt for Qilin, Mengzi, Anning, and Lan zinc brands. The purchasing sentiment for refined zinc in Guangdong was 1.7, and the sales sentiment was 2.68. The significant rise in futures led to extremely low downstream inquiry willingness. Downstream procurement enthusiasm was suppressed by high prices and remained sluggish. Although traders’ quotations remained firm today, actual transactions were difficult.
