Mexico’s Mining Chamber, Camimex, said that total mining investment in Mexico is forecast to reach $6.4 billion in 2026, up 30.8% from $4.9 billion invested in 2025. The 2025 figure was below the chamber’s initial estimate of $5.31 billion.
Maintenance is expected to be the largest spending category in 2026 at $1.11 billion, followed by project expansions at $976 million and equipment purchases at $835 million. Mexico is an important source of zinc, as well as a major producer of silver, copper and gold.
