SMM, August 3:

Market sentiment in the scrap battery circulation market is weak. On the recycling side, cost support from purchases makes suppliers reluctant to sell at low prices. Meanwhile, due to sluggish production, secondary lead smelters have limited demand for raw materials, showing a strong tendency to push for lower prices in purchases. Upstream and downstream expectations are mismatched. Currently, cargo circulation is average, and the market lacks support from concentrated transactions. Expectations of declining lead prices are unsettling market sentiment. Intermediaries tend to operate conservatively, mainly focusing on quick turnovers. In the short term, scrap battery prices have limited upside room and are likely to remain in the doldrums and stalemate along with lead prices.
