SMM News, August 3: SMM has been informed that Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. has initiated a public bidding sale for its high-purity selenium head and tail materials with immediate effect. The total volume of this batch of materials is 1,000 kilograms.
According to official notices, the goods are packed in iron drums and collected by buyers on a self-pickup basis with all freight charges borne by purchasers. In accordance with national regulations, transportation must be carried out by qualified vehicles for hazardous chemicals. Buyers are required to complete pickup prior to August 20, 2026 at the premises of Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd.
Market participants commented that selenium prices have remained relatively stable recently. The tendered selenium material released by Shandong Humon can gauge the actual market purchasing capacity to a certain extent. Given the small shipment volume, a successful transaction is highly likely. The final winning bid price will mirror current market fundamentals and provide directional references for the whole industry. SMM will keep track of and update follow-up bidding developments.
