On July 24, Samarco, a Brazilian iron ore producer, released its Q2 2026 operations report. The report showed:
Production: In Q2 2026, Samarco's iron ore pellet and concentrate production remained stable at 3.9 million mt, up 4% QoQ and basically flat YoY, reflecting the company's continued operation at structurally high levels. In H1 2026, iron ore pellet and concentrate production totaled 7.7 million mt, up 8% YoY.
Sales: In Q2 2026, Samarco's iron ore pellet and concentrate sales volume was 3.9 million mt, up 23% QoQ, and remained stable YoY. The sales rebound was mainly driven by a low shipment base in Q1, with the shipment pace becoming more balanced this quarter. In H1 2026, iron ore pellet and concentrate sales volume was 7.1 million mt, up 4% YoY.
