Chuzhou Launches $200M Power Battery Recycling Project with 18.5k-Ton Annual Capacity

Samsung Electronics has adopted a silicon-carbon anode material in its new foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Despite achieving its thinnest-ever profile of 4.1 mm, the new model is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, offering 14% higher capacity than the previous model, Galaxy Z Fold7.

Hyundai Motor has started moving production line equipment into MAAC (Mobility Alpha-line Anseong Campus), its first in-house battery plant. The plant’s initial production capacity is understood to be 2 GWh per year. Hyundai Motor will use NCM batteries, rather than LFP batteries, and plans to first build a pouch-type battery production line this year. The company is also expected to discuss prismatic battery production next year.

【30k-ton Waste LIB Recycling and Reutilization Project Launched in Beichen, Tianjin】 Recently, the annual 30,000-ton waste LIB recycling and reutilization project entered its second EIA public announcement stage. The project is located in Xiditou Town Industrial Park, Beichen District, Tianjin. It is an expansion project that utilizes leased factory space to install one LIB cell crushing and sorting line, one un-electrolyte-deposited LIB cell crushing and sorting line, one LIB electrode sheet crushing and sorting line, and supporting environmental equipment. Upon completion, it will achieve an annual capacity of 10,000 tons of LIB cells, 10,000 tons of un-electrolyte-deposited cells, and 10,000 tons of electrode sheets, totaling 30,000 tons of waste LIBs per year.
