On July 23, Nvidia formally announced price adjustments across its entire GPU lineup, with a shortage of GDDR memory becoming the core driver of this new round of price increases.

[H100 in the Yangtze River Delta: Lowest Prices Eroded Continuously, Approaching the 80,000 Mark]

SMM-H100-80G-Unit-Yangtze River Delta-Monthly The lowest monthly rental rose from 76,000 yuan to 78,000 yuan, an increase of 2,000 yuan, or 2.63%; the lowest per-card hourly rate rose from 13.19 yuan to 13.54 yuan, up 0.35 yuan, or 2.65%. Earlier, the lowest price was still hovering around the 72,000 yuan level, and within two weeks it has cumulatively risen by 6,000 yuan, bringing the 80,000 threshold within sight. Amid tight high-end supply, even the lowest quotes are being pushed up step by step, and the market floor continues to rise.

[4090: GDDR Price Hikes Passed Through, Pearl River Delta Leads the Increase]

SMM-4090-24G-Unit-Pearl River Delta-Monthly The lowest monthly rental rose from 6,800 yuan to 7,500 yuan, an increase of 700 yuan, or 10.29%; the lowest per-card hourly rate rose from 1.18 yuan to 1.30 yuan, up 0.12 yuan, or 10.17%. SMM-4090-24G-Unit-Yangtze River Delta-Monthly The lowest monthly rental rose from 6,800 yuan to 7,000 yuan, an increase of 200 yuan, or 2.94%; the lowest per-card hourly rate rose from 1.18 yuan to 1.22 yuan, up 3.39%. The Pearl River Delta's increase far outpaced that of the Yangtze River Delta, reflecting uneven supply-demand conditions for 4090 across regions and significant differences in price elasticity.

[A100 in the Pearl River Delta: Average Price Continues to Revise Upward]

SMM-A100-80G-Unit-Pearl River Delta-Monthly The average price increased by 0.09 yuan to 5.47 yuan per card per hour, extending the previous trend of low-price convergence. Against the backdrop of H100 being difficult to obtain, A100 continues to benefit as an alternative, with prices trending mildly higher.

[SMM Commentary]

The underlying logic of this wave of price hikes has emerged on the memory side: Storage giants such as SK Hynix and Samsung are massively shifting capacity to HBM (high-bandwidth memory) to support high-end AI chips, squeezing out GDDR and DDR series capacity and directly driving up costs for consumer GPUs like RTX 5090 and 4090. Meanwhile, the 5090 and 4090 are experiencing a boom in commercial applications—enterprises deploying DeepSeek V4 Flash, image and video generation, and other demands are robust. When supply contraction meets demand expansion, price increases become inevitable. Tight supply of Nvidia’s computing resources remains the main theme, with no turning point in sight in the near term.
