SMM July 24 News:

From July 17 to July 23, 2026, the SMM weekly secondary lead operating rate across four provinces was 29.5%, pulling back by 1.04 percentage points WoW. Production in Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia remained stable; some smelters in Henan cut production due to tight scrap battery arrivals and smelting losses; in Anhui, enterprises' raw material inventories continued to be consumed, and the regional operating rate fell by 2.8 percentage points. Looking ahead to next week, some smelters in Anhui plan to halt production, while raw material supply constraints continue to affect the remaining producers. SMM expects the secondary lead operating rate across the four provinces to continue to decline.
