[SMM PV Flash] India added 29 GW of new renewable energy capacity in H1 2026

According to JMK Research, India added nearly 29 GW of renewable energy capacity in H1, including approximately 26 GW of solar and 2.9 GW of wind. Solar capacity was up 43% YoY, while wind capacity was down 16% YoY.

As of June this year (2026), India’s cumulative installed renewable energy capacity reached about 288 GW. Solar accounted for 56% of total power generation, followed by wind at 20%, large hydropower at 18%, bioenergy at 4%, and small hydropower at 2%. The report stated that solar installations in the first six months of 2026 reached nearly 70% of the total new solar capacity added in 2025.

[SMM PV Flash News] DMEGC: H1 PV Product Shipments Exceeded 12GW

On August 20, 2026, DMEGC (002056) released its half-year report for 2026. In H1 2026, the company achieved operating revenue of 12.342 billion yuan, up 3.41% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the publicly listed firm was 948 million yuan, and net profit attributable to shareholders of the publicly listed firm after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 811 million yuan.
