The imported copper billet market is expected to remain under pressure in Q3.

[SMM Brass Billet Flash] The core contradiction in the brass billet market, characterized by “high costs, weak demand, and pessimistic expectations,” has not undergone a substantive reversal. On the one hand, persistently high fluctuations in international copper prices are continuously raising overseas production costs and domestic import procurement costs for brass billets, leaving enterprises generally cautious about purchasing large amounts of imported materials. On the other hand, the recovery pace of traditional downstream end-users is slow, with enterprises mainly replenishing inventories in small batches based on demand. Considering the import performance in June and downstream end-user fundamentals, SMM expects the imported brass billet market to remain under pressure in Q3.
