Aluminum Futures Rise Despite Subdued Demand in Central China Market

Published: Jul 20, 2026 11:11
Aluminum futures rose today, spurred by news of production cuts at some aluminum smelters. However, downstream processing enterprises in the central China market showed subdued purchasing sentiment, which significantly dampened trading sentiment. Nevertheless, suppliers held prices firm, with market quotations staying high. After the market opened, as absolute prices rose further, traders lowered their quotations slightly. Ultimately, the actual transaction price range in the central China market centered around premiums of -120~-150 yuan/mt against the SHFE aluminum August contract.
