[ADC12 Price Daily Commentary: Aluminum Alloy Futures Consolidate with Upward Bias, Spot Market Weakens as Prices Hold Steady] Today, overall ADC12 market quotations continued to remain stable, with enterprises generally reluctant to adjust prices. On one hand, recent fluctuations in aluminum prices were limited, and the cost side lacked a clear driver, keeping market quotations relatively stable; on the other hand, as traditional consumption...

Futures: The aluminum alloy 2609 contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange opened at 22,910 yuan/mt in the morning session. It reached an intraday high of 23,055 yuan/mt and a low of 22,845 yuan/mt. As of 14:00, it closed at 23,020 yuan/mt, up 115 points, or 0.50%, from the settlement price. Prices dipped to the 22,845 yuan/mt support level early in the session, then bulls stepped in, driving the market to consolidate and rise. The intraday candlestick held above the average price throughout, with bullish sentiment dominant. The 4-hour candlestick remained above the DKX lines, while the KD indicator stayed in a neutral-to-bullish zone. Trading volume expanded notably, open interest edged up, and a small amount of capital flowed in. In the near term, 22,845 yuan/mt provides strong support, while 23,055 yuan/mt represents short-term resistance. The futures market has a bullish bias, and the overall trend is a rebound from lows.

Spot: ADC12 market quotes were generally steady today, with enterprises showing little inclination to adjust prices. On one hand, recent aluminum price fluctuations have been limited, and the cost side lacks a clear driver, keeping offers relatively stable. On the other hand, as the traditional consumption off-season deepens, downstream end-users such as automakers are gradually affected by high-temperature holidays, leading to phased pullbacks in orders. In particular, expectations of production cuts have strengthened in the second half of the month, weakening demand support. Nevertheless, under current market conditions, both sellers and buyers remain cautious, with limited willingness to compete on price. Low-price sales have a limited effect on improving trading volumes. Overall, the market is dominated by purchases on an as-needed basis and stable prices. In the short term, ADC12 prices are expected to continue moving sideways within a range.

Import: Overseas ADC12 offers were in the $3,050-$3,190/mt range. Affected by slightly lower overseas offers, firm domestic prices, and a stronger Chinese yuan against the US dollar, the cost pressure on imports has eased. The price spread between Chinese and overseas markets continued to narrow, and the immediate import loss narrowed further to 860 yuan/mt.

Chengde Vanadium Ships 60 Tons of Aerospace-Grade Vanadium to Overseas Customer, Strengthening Partnership
【SMM Vanadium Flash News】Recently, the 60 tons of aerospace-grade vanadium flakes customized by Chengde Vanadium and Titanium for overseas customers have successfully completed the whole-process quality inspection, packaging and delivery procedures, and been officially shipped to high-end overseas customers. This is a larger-volume purchase order added by the customer following the successful delivery of a 40-ton order in May, marking the continuous deepening of the strategic cooperation between the two parties. As the core basic raw material for aerospace V-Al master alloys, aerospace-grade vanadium flakes are subject to extremely stringent international standards regarding purity, impurity content and batch consistency. For the 60 tons of products to be shipped this time, the customer has put forward higher requirements for the control of key impurity elements such as chromium, silicon and iron, particle size distribution and surface quality. The company's aerospace material production line launched a special production plan two weeks in advance, optimized the smelting and processing process parameters, and implemented a "double insurance" mechanism of whole-process online monitoring and offline re-inspection to ensure that the indicators of each batch of products are better than the customer's customized requirements. In terms of delivery guarantee, multiple departments including production, quality inspection and logistics worked in coordination to shorten the gap between processes, realizing the seamless flow of the whole chain from finished product off-line to loading and shipment. The logistics team, in combination with the characteristics of high temperature in summer and sea freight, customized a special moisture-proof and shock-proof packaging solution, and coordinated shipping schedules and customs declaration resources in advance to ensure the high-quality and efficient delivery of products to overseas customers.

CMOC Strengthens Rare Metal Market Grip with Global Acquisitions and High-Profit Cesium, Rubidium Ventures
【SMM Cesium, Rubidium, Tantalum & Niobium News Flash】According to public information collation, in recent years, CMOC has continuously integrated global rare metal resources through successive mergers and acquisitions, and the effect of its diversified layout is gradually emerging. The company has successively brought major global cesium and rubidium resources such as Tanco and Bikita under its wing, and has strong pricing power in the global cesium and rubidium salt market by virtue of its control over the resource side. Financial data shows that in 2025, the gross profit margin of its cesium and rubidium salt business reached 74.07%, and its profit level is at a high level in the non-ferrous metal segment. In addition, the company has also planned a tantalum and niobium recycling project, which is designed to process 850,000 tons of lithium slag annually and produce 450 tons of tantalum-niobium slag powder per year, further extending the rare metal industry chain through the resource utilization of solid waste and improving the comprehensive utilization efficiency of resources.

[SMM Chromium Flash] Alluvial Exhaustion Forces Zimbabwe's Chrome Miners Toward Costlier Hard-Rock Ore
As Zimbabwe's easily mined alluvial chrome deposits approach exhaustion, small-scale miners are being pushed toward hard-rock lumpy chrome, a shift that Chrome Miners Association of Zimbabwe chairperson Shelton Lucas says is straining the sector's economics. Unlike alluvial chrome, which could be extracted with limited capital and equipment, hard-rock ore requires drilling, blasting, crushing and heavier mechanization, pushing production costs beyond the reach of many operators. Lucas said this cost pressure is compounded by Zimbabwe's ban on raw chrome ore exports, introduced to encourage local beneficiation and smelter investment. With a limited number of domestic smelters absorbing ore, miners have fewer buyers to sell into and correspondingly weaker pricing power, leaving them, in Lucas's words, exposed to predatory pricing from Chinese-owned smelter operators even as extraction costs climb. To rebalance the market, Lucas proposed government-backed toll smelting, an arrangement under which miners would pay a processing fee while retaining ownership of their chrome, allowing them to sell the processed product rather than raw ore at prices set unilaterally by smelter operators. Zimbabwe's Ministry of Mines has pointed to investment in mining infrastructure, energy supply and operational efficiency as necessary to sustain output, though no toll-smelting facility has yet been confirmed. Whether such a mechanism materializes will be a key test of how much pricing leverage Zimbabwe's ore miners can claw back as the sector's hard-rock transition deepens.
