[SMM PV Flash] 2.79 Yuan/W! Tianjin 18.81 MW Distributed PV Project EPC Winning Bid Result Publicized

SMM learned that prices in China’s distributed PV module market have recently shown a divergent trend. The cost side continued to provide support, and module enterprises were expected to raise their quoted prices; however, downstream resistance sentiment was strong, and coupled with pressure from H2 shipment targets, transaction prices in some areas loosened. The Chinese market was expected to show a complex pattern this week, with mixed performance in gains and losses alongside stability, as the tug-of-war between sellers and buyers intensified and the difficulty of another price rise increased.

Egypt has approved the Nefer Minya solar-plus-storage project in Minya Governorate, with planned capacity of 1GW of solar PV and 600MWh of battery storage. The project represents around USD 750 million in investment and has received a Golden License to help accelerate investment and approvals. Developed by Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Utilities, the BESS component is designed to provide about two hours of energy shifting for the Egyptian grid. Environmental and social assessments have been completed, and the project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 30, 2027. It is expected to create around 2,500 jobs during construction and reduce carbon emissions by about 1 million tons annually. AIKO has been selected as the sole module supplier, with the project set to use its ABC modules. SMM believes Nefer Minya will become one of Egypt’s early large-scale solar-plus-storage projects, improving renewable integration flexibility and supporting the shift from standalone PV development toward dispatchable clean energy projects.

A sharp pullback in Pakistan and several Asia-Pacific markets dragged monthly shipments lower, while Europe retained a 45.5% share of China’s module export value.
