SMM July 9 news:
This week, China’s graphitisation tolling processing fees held steady overall, with no significant fluctuations. Currently, graphitisation tolling order volumes remain high, and downstream demand provides solid support, offering fundamental guarantee for processing fees to stay stable. However, constrained by persistently tight capacity among operating enterprises in the industry, coupled with production costs staying high, the market still widely holds expectations for price hikes. Yet, after several earlier rounds of processing fee increases, although overall profit margins in the industry remain narrow, most tolling enterprises have largely emerged from losses and are now focusing on stable-price shipments. Looking ahead, as downstream anode material demand gradually recovers, battery producers’ push for lower prices weakens to ensure stable release of their own capacity, the bargaining power of the processing sector is gradually restored, and the overall operating environment for the industry is expected to continue improving.
