[SMM Aluminum Flash News] Hydro Awards NOK 1.1 Billion Contract for New Aluminium Wire Rod Plant in Norway

Hydro has awarded Skanska a NOK 1.1 billion contract to build a new aluminum wire rod production facility at its Karmøy plant in Norway. The project includes production halls, furnaces, storage and supporting infrastructure. The new line will have an annual capacity of around 110,000 tones of aluminum wire rod and is scheduled for completion in March 2028, supporting Europe's growing demand for power grid infrastructure.
