[SMM Steel] Turkish HRC Prices Fall Further Driven by Dual Pressures of Weak Supply and Demand

Published: Jul 6, 2026 14:46
[Turkey] Driven by limited domestic demand and a lack of alternative export markets, Turkish hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices continue to decline, with offers for September delivery dropping to 605-630 USD/tonne EXW. Furthermore, recent adjustments to the EU safeguard regime offer no relief to Turkish mills, as newly opened quotas were immediately exhausted by previously shipped volumes; Turkey exceeded its Q3 HRC quota by 205%, with approximately 330000 tonnes of resources currently awaiting clearance against a total allowance of around 160000 tonnes.
