SMM July 2 News:
This week, China’s graphitisation tolling processing prices remained largely stable, with no significant fluctuations. Currently, first- and second-tier anode material producers face a sizable gap in their integrated in-house capacity, and demand for outsourced processing continues to be released. Graphitisation tolling order volumes have been steadily rising, providing strong support from the demand side. Bolstered by tight processing supply and high production costs, expectations for price hikes persist in the industry. However, after two rounds of processing fee hikes in June, most tolling companies have temporarily moved out of the red, though overall industry profit margins remain narrow. Amid negotiations between upstream and downstream players, processing prices are now in a stalemate. Looking ahead, as demand from the downstream anode industry continues to recover, producers’ willingness to push for lower prices in procurement is gradually weakening, and the processing side’s bargaining power has improved somewhat. It is expected that graphitisation tolling processing fees will trend steadily upward.
