[SMM Lithium Battery Electrolyte Market Weekly Review: Electrolyte prices remained stable this week (2026.6.29-7.2)] From June 29 to July 2, 2026, electrolyte prices remained stable. The future market price trend of electrolyte will still need to be continuously tracked for raw material price fluctuations and their transmission.

SMM, July 2:

Electrolyte market prices stabilized this week. Average prices for power ternary, LFP, and LMO electrolytes stood at 29,350 yuan/mt, 27,600 yuan/mt, and 21,900 yuan/mt, respectively. Cost side, spot lithium carbonate prices experienced a notable rise this week, but the overall supply-demand pattern for the LiPF6 industry tended toward balance. Downstream electrolyte producers harbored strong wait-and-see sentiment and weak willingness to stockpile and purchase, dragging LiPF6 transaction prices to extend their slight downward trend. The additive segment showed strong resilience. Supported by an overall tight supply-demand pattern, additive producers generally maintained high and firm offers. Some electrolyte plants passively accepted moderate price hikes, pushing the transaction price center for mainstream additives such as VC and FEC higher. With raw material fluctuations offsetting each other, electrolyte prices remained stable overall this week. Supply-demand side, new orders for passenger NEVs sustained high performance in July. Coupled with the continuously accelerating penetration rate of commercial vehicle electrification, this significantly boosted demand for power battery cells. The energy storage sector also maintained a steady growth trend. End-use demand continued to improve, driving the operating rate of domestic battery cell production steadily higher. The supporting production requirement for electrolyte rose accordingly, and overall industry production is expected to rise. Overall, the subsequent market price trend for electrolyte still requires continuous tracking of raw material price fluctuations and their transmission.

SMM Daily Review: 3 August – Spot Lithium Carbonate Continues to Fall
[SMM Daily Review: 3 August – Spot Lithium Carbonate Continues to Fall] Today, SMM’s spot price for battery-grade lithium carbonate continued to fall compared with the previous working day. The lithium carbonate 2609 contract opened lower today at 137,500 yuan per tonne; following the opening, it fluctuated lower and quickly dipped, touching a low of 135,600 yuan per tonne; Subsequently, long positions drove a volatile rebound, with the price fluctuating around the moving average line during the morning session; as the morning session drew to a close, long positions intensified, propelling the price to rapidly break through the 140,000 yuan mark and surge to 140,800 yuan per tonne. In the afternoon, the price retreated amid selling pressure from short positions and profit-taking, and consolidated within a narrow range of 138,800–139,000 yuan per tonne towards the close, eventually closing down 1.15% at 138,900 yuan per tonne, with open interest decreasing by 3,474 contracts. In the spot market, as it was the first working day of the month, downstream material manufacturers began dispatching goods under long-term contracts and for customer orders; spot buyers remained cautious, purchasing only on an as-needed basis when prices were relatively low. Upstream lithium salt producers continued to maintain their willingness to support prices for spot sales, with the focus at the start of the month on ensuring supply through long-term contracts and contract volume increases. Overall, the level of activity in market enquiries and actual transactions declined somewhat.
